Tornadoes Touch Down as Major Storm Impacts Florida and Alabama
Strong Cold Front Brings Potential for Severe Weather
A major storm carrying 55 mph winds and hail has swept through the Florida Panhandle and into parts of Alabama, causing widespread damage and power outages. The National Weather Service (NWS) has confirmed that tornadoes touched down in several areas, including Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, and Hobe Sound, Florida.
Tornadoes Confirmed in Florida
The first tornado touched down in Palm Beach Gardens on Saturday, causing significant damage to homes and businesses. On Wednesday, the NWS confirmed that a second tornado touched down in Hobe Sound around 3:30 p.m. No injuries have been reported so far, but the tornadoes have left a trail of destruction in their wake.
The NWS is advising residents in the affected areas to be prepared for additional severe weather, including hail, tornadoes, and strong winds. They also urge people to stay indoors and seek shelter in a safe place if they see any signs of a tornado approaching.
